Solange Vergara

Solange has an Argentinian father and a German mother. She has been singing international variety standards since she was thirteen and started studying classical choral repertoire around this time. After a year studying at the CIM in Paris , she decided to take a four-year course at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA). She returned to France in 1994 and formed the Solange Vergara Quartet , with an eclectic repertoire combining jazz and South American music. In July 1996 she joined the Voice Messengers, with whom she has sung numerous solos, particularly in performances

of West Side Story with the French National Orchestra in 1997, directed by Lawrence Foster. Solange is one of the Voice Messengers main soloists on the 1998 album Un peu de ménage , and she was very closely involved in the group's various collaborative activities with, among others, Glenn Ferris and Steve Lacy. She was the soloist in Haendel Medley, created by Antoine Hervé for the Voice Messengers and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Halle, Germany, in 2001. She also features as vocalist on the album Peu de Choses by Marcel Zanini (2002). Perfectly trilingual in French, English and Spanish, she has written or adapted her own lyrics for numerous pieces (based on, for example, the compositions of Horace Silver and Tom Harrell).
