"This is an absolutely exceptional vocal group. They are the only vocal group of their kind at present, but they represent the best anyone could wish to hear in France ." André Francis (producer and journalist, Radio France).
"Homogeneity, structure, phrasing and swing are all there! Yep! The Voice Messengers really are the voice messengers." Mimi Perrin, founder of Les Double Six .
Even if the vocal reproduction of instrumental pieces is only one of their specialties the Voice Messengers are clearly the natural successors of Mimi Perrin's Les Double Six (...). The originality of the "Messengers", with respect to their elder cousins, is ensured by the refined or aggressive (when necessary) arrangements of the pianist and leader Thierry Lalo, who along with Gilles Naturel and François Laudet forms a rhythm section with impeccable credentials. Alain Gerber (Author and journalist).
"Sumptuous from beginning to end" ( Jazz Notes )
"All people were fascinated of the high quality, the fresh appearance and great music of The Voice Messengers - thank you heartily!” Frank Leenen (Director of the 4th International Festtage Geistlicher Chormusik , Rottenburg , Germany )
"Bull's-eye!" Renaud Czarnes ( La Croix )
"The arrival of the Voice Messengers is good news for lovers of vocal jazz. They sing with such astounding energy. Their arrangements are of a high quality and their soloists improvise with such incredible ease. In short, it is a job very, very well done." Ward Swingle (founder of the Swingle Singers )
"Here we have a group of high flyers, a real treat, worthy of their predecessors"Jean-Pierre Jackson ( Répertoire )
"These singers must in future be considered among the rising stars of a precious vocal tradition" ( Le Généraliste )
"Here singer Cécile Rigazio writes the texts, in a French whose phrases espouse each inflection and accent of a music quite foreign to our language. The result is worthy of the ambition, and the themes, sung in the language of America and of jazz, contribute a precious counterpoint, allowing their success to be judged against an indisputable reference." Guillaume Rondelet (MFA).
"Nothing to say except that they've done a great job (...). The orchestral (pardon me: vocal) ensembles have an irresistible pizzazz that combines both power and precision ..." ( Bulletin de Hot Club de France )
"In a word: Joy!" Edouard Huber ( Famille chrétienne )
"While in front the excellent soloists deliver the message, with support from a swinging trio, in the background, a homogenous and united group, produce - with sensational riffs and rich phrasing - the impression of a big band (...) At the end of the concert, a standing ovation acclaims the performance of these ambassadors of jazz." ( Brunsviga Leitung , Allemagne)
"Often droll, sometimes tinged with emotion but always irreproachably musical, full of dazzling virtuosity, of the highest vocal quality and spot on rhythmically. The audience, spellbound by the remarkable quality of this vocal big band, applauded them loud and long." ( Ouest-France )
"The message of the Voice Messengers is clear: celebrate in song, communicate the story of jazz as a vital natural fluid, a vibration that accompanies us in our daily lives and transports us into a magical world on a flying carpet of sound." ( Le Parisien )
