Manu Inacio Pure coincidence or are they actually related? Manu Inacio has retained the facility for hitting the high notes after his time spent at the Manécanterie des Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois choir school, where he was solo soprano. This he has transposed into the world of jazz where his use of light lyric tenor and high counter-tenor is a rare talent reminiscent of certain baroque or variety singers. Wonderfully moving in solos, his timber is particularly precious in the polyphonic vocal context of the Voice Messengers. Manu trained in Paris (CIM and IACP) under the tuition of Viviane Ginapé

and Michele Hendricks for singing, and Heri Paredes for harmony. In 2001, he formed the Manu Inacio Quartet, where the sunny world of Latin Jazz is the main influence, with a repertoire combining Tom Jobim, Joao Bosco, Chick Corea and others. The current members of the quartet are Cédric Baud (guitar), Thérèse Henry (bass) and Julie Saury (drums). They play mainly clubs - Baisé Salé, Franc Pinot, Sunside, 7 Lézards... Manu has been a member of various vocal groups, for example Sextet à Claques (comprising six vocalists and a jazz trio led by Brigitte Jacquot), and the vocal trio Cécile a Dit (leader Cécile Philippin). Manu also features on the album Obsession by Viviane Ginapé (2003).
