Isabelle Graf French-American pianist and singer, Isabelle Graf is also a writer, composer and arranger. She trained as a classical pianist in the USA with Averill Summer and Olga Lliano Kuehl, and as a jazz pianist at the Bill Evans Piano Academy in Paris and the New School in NewYork. Isabelle also followed a parallel musical training as a singer, both lyrical and Broadway, with Mady de la Preugne, Richard Cross, Lean Laforêt and Michele Hendricks.
Her eclecticism led her to explore all styles of music - jazz, pop, rock, classical - both as singer and pianist. As vocalist she directs her own
quintet and works with, among others, John Graf (
Ariston-Graf Project ), Jacky Terasson, Ahmet Gülbay, Pierre Boussaguet, the
Raux-Biwalsky Big Band and the
Swing Voices . With her keyboard and choral competency she has worked a lot in the rock arena since 1994, with Moïna Erichson
, Erika, Norbert Krief, Eric Sera and Richard Kolinka. She wrote the arrangements for a collection of albums for children (Sony France - 2002) and for the collection entitled
P'tits N' enfants (Warner - 2004).
Isabelle also directs her own pop-rock group,
Izzy Aston , and is recording a new album in 2005 - based on her own compositions - with Norbert Krief (guitar), Patrick Loiseau (bass) and Massimo Trasente (drums). She teaches jazz at the Koenig School in Paris .
